VIJAYAWADA: Breaking his silence on withdrawing the ‘general consent’ given to the CBI to investigate cases in the state, chief minister Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said that the CBI has become corrupt and facing internal squabbles.“The issue is now in the Supreme Court. More states will follow AP in keeping the CBI out of their states,” he said.“We gave consent to the CBI to take up cases in our state. We have now withdrawn the consent as the CBI itself is accused of corruption,” Naidu added. The judges’ delegation visited the capital to inspect the construction of the interim high court complex.Naidu said AP is the third-lowest corrupt state in the country and it does not require the “corrupt CBI to investigate anything here”. “The ACB in AP is doing well and we will strengthen it to investigate corruption cases.” He further added that withdrawing the CBI and strengthening the ACB would protect the sovereignty of states..
