Lokesh to lead AP delegation at WEF in Davos

VIJAYAWADA: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu will not attend the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos next week. Instead, his son and IT minister N Lokesh will lead the Andhra Pradesh delegation.WEF has invited Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh for its 49th meeting in Davos, Switzerland , to be held from January 22 to 25.It is learnt that Naidu is unhappy over the Centre’s decision to downsize the AP delegation and the duration of the tour. He also participated in the 48th World Economic Forum annual meeting in 2018 which took place between January 23 and 26.“The visit of Lokesh is to strengthen the state’s network with the global investment community, explore possibilities of collaboration and promote Andhra Pradesh as an investment destination,” said an official statement here on Thursday. After the state protested, the Centre gave permission to the state to send a full delegation.CM Naidu has been visiting Davos regularly to market Andhra Pradesh at the event.The event is attended by over 60 heads of states, heads of Fortune 500 companies, global innovators, heads of bilateral and multilateral institutions and heads of leading global educational and research institutions.Naidu has been invited as a guest of honour over 15 times..
