PM Modi meets 'India’s pride' PV Sindhu after her historic triumph

Indian Shuttler PV Sindhu who made India proud by winning the gold medal at the BWF World Championships met Kiren Rijiju, the Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.

Sindhu arrived  India early on Tuesday morning and thanked fans for their support. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said the badminton star has made the country proud by becoming the first Indian to win the Badminton World Championships.

"Honoured @Pvsindhu1 who created history and made India proud by winning the World Badminton Championship for the first time! My best wishes to her in her pursuit to bring more glory to India" Union Minister wrote on twitter

Union Minister also met the World Champions' father PV Ramana coach P. Gopichand & Kim and president of Badminton Association of India Himanta Biswa Sarma and shared pictures on his Twitter account.

PV Sindhu also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi hours after meeting Union Minister. PM Modi congratulated her and shared the pictures on twitter.

"India’s pride, a champion who has brought home a Gold and lots of glory! Happy to have met @Pvsindhu1. Congratulated her and wished her the very best for her future endeavours." PM Modi wrote on twitter

Earlier PV Sindhu thanked her Parents, coach Gopichand, Korean coach Kim Ji-hyun   trainer Srikanth Verma in her Instagram post
