Korea Super Series: PV Sindhu advances, Parupalli Kashyap loses

India’s ace badminton player PV Sindhu advanced to the quarter-finals after defeating Thailands’ Nitchaon Jindapol in straight sets 22-20 21-17. The Olympic silver medalist will face Japan’s 2014 World Championships bronze medalist Minatsu Mitani.

Another Indian badminton star reached the quarter-finals, like Sindhu, Verma defeated Hong Kong’s Wong Wing Ki Vincent 21-19 21-12 in 41 minutes. The Hong Kong Super Series finalist and Syed Modi Grand Prix Gold winner will have to step up his game as he will face hot favourite Son Wan Ho.

Son Wan ended Parupalli Kashyap Korean Super Series journey in men’s single, Son battled for an hour and 16 minutes before getting the better off the Indian 21-16 17-21 21-16 to reach the last-eight stage.
