Kadambi rises to word no.2, Andhra govt offer Dy Collector post

India’s ace shuttler Kidambi Srikant has been making waves in the badminton world, becoming the first Indian and only the fourth shuttler in the world to win four Super Series in a calendar year.

Kadambi has even propelled to a career-high world No.2 in the latest badminton men's singles ranking. This is the highest ranking for an Indian male badminton player since official Badminton World Federation ranking was introduced.

Kidambi’s stature has grown tremendously following an incredible 2017 and naturally, he was nominated for the prestigious Padma Shri award by former Sports Minister Vijay Goel.

Not only this, Srikant has also been offered a deputy collector rank job in the Andhra Pradesh government. The Andhra Pradesh Govt confirmed that decision was taken after a cabinet meeting. Besides this, they also announced a reward of Rs 2 crore for the shuttler.
