After Finch's brilliance, India's bowlers fight back to restrict Aussies to 293

Cricket | Australia Vs India 2017 | Sunday | 24th September, 2017

Aaron Finch reminded everyone of his importance in the Australian team as he struck a magnificient century on his return after missing the first two ODIs due to injury. Led by Finch who scored run a ball 124 runs, Australia were heading towards a massive score of well over 300, but the Indian bowlers backed by some good fielding fought back and restricted the Aussies to 293 runs.

Earlier, David Warner and Aaron Finch got the Aussies of to a good start as they put up 70 runs for the first wicket. After that Finch was joined by Smith, and both of them had a huge partnership of 154 runs, hence providing a perfect platform for the middle order batsman. But unfortunately the other batsman could not quite finish well as wickets started falling like a pack of cards. Glenn Maxwell, Travis Head amnd Peter Handscomb-all of them fell for single digit score.

The Indian bowlers did not start off well. Everyone including the spinners  were leaking runs. However, wrist spinners  Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal made a comeback and put brakes on Australian run flow. Kuldeep removed both set batsman, Aaron Finch and Steve Smith, while Chahal got rid off the dangerous Maxwell. Some brilliant death bowling by the pace bowlers made sure Australia did not run away with the game as they conceded only 59 in the last ten and managed to pick 4 wickets.

It will still be an interesting contest as the Indians will be chasing and would be under some pressure as it is still a competitive score.
