Finally, Australia put up a performance for which they are known in World cricket. In a match that had been a roller coaster ride, Australia finally managed to register a victory to their name in their tour of India. Indian batsman including Kedar Jadhav and Rohit Sharma showed some fight, but the team fell short by 21 runs in the end.
One of the major turning points had been the run out of Rohit Sharma at a crucial juncture in the match, with some brilliant effort in the field by Steve Smith.
The match had been interupted in between but did not have much impact on the outcome. The match got quite interesting in the final few overs, with Kedar Jadhav and Manish Pandey playing some scintillating shots. But Kedar Jadhav was outfoxed by a slower ball from Kane Richardson and was caught by the long off fielder. Dhoni who is in tremendous form of late and regarded as one of the greatest finishers in the game also could not quite impress this time.
Earlier, David Warner and Aaron Finch helped Australia pile up a massive score of 334 runs, which is always difficult to chase under pressure. Australia had been desperate to win a match in this series , salvage some pride and their players also would have got some confidence back.
