South Africa managed to end their winless streak with a victory to keep their series hope alive. JP Duminy and Klaasen led the charge but Indian bowling performance failed to defend a competitive 189, built on the heroics of Manish Pandey and MS Dhoni.

· MS Dhoni’s fifty off 27 balls is the joint fastest by an Indian batsman against South Africa in T20Is. Shikhar Dhawan scored a fifty off the same number of deliveries in the opening T20I
· The partnership between MS Dhoni and Manish Pandey was the fourth highest fifth-wicket partnership in T20Is
· A rather unwanted record for Rohit Sharma: He now has the most ducks by a batsman for India in T20Is. He has four ducks while Ashish Nehra and Yusuf Pathan has 3.
· Yuzvendra Chahal conceded the most runs by an Indian in a T20I match. The previous highest was 57, by Joginder Sharma against England at Durban in 2007
· Dhoni is now third on the list of most sixes by a wicketkeeper in T20s with 44 so far. Mohammad Shahzad leads the list with 68 while McCullum has 58.
