A solid start off can be seen from the Australia team in the first Test series against the Proteas. Cameron Bancroft scoring the second highest in their first innings bailed Australia out from a doubtful position.

However, things went wrong as the Australian opener Bancroft suffered an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction in the second innings.

Bancroft, who fields close-in for most of the innings was standing in the slips when the ball trickled down to the third-man boundary. When he made his way to the boundary to recover the ball, he encountered with this awkward situation.

The incident left Australian skipper Steve Smith to laugh uncontrollably.

"Obviously I field at bat-pad so I keep my jockstrap with my box in it or whatever and an old jockstrap just sort of snapped a bit, down the bottom. So the box part was hanging out and kind of moving around a fair bit in there. It caused a little bit of awkwardness in my running gait and the boys, they don't miss anything so I just had to cop that one," Bancroft reacting towards the incident said.

The host was 55 with no wickets down in their second innings when they had to end the match due to a low light condition.
