India Lose Australia by 34 runs in 1st ODI

After clinching their historic Test series win at Australia, Team India's form in the One Day International slogged once again as they lose to the hosts by a 34 run margin at the Sydney Cricket Grounds.

The Aussies had won the toss and chose to bat, setting up a target of 288, with five wickets remaining. The three players, Peter Handscomb, Usman Khwaja and  Shaun Marsh have scored over 50+ runs, followed by Marcus Stoinis, narrowly missing to join the party with three runs short.

India's pace merchant Bhuvaneshwar Kumar clinched his 100th ODI wicket for the 'Men in Blue', dismissing both Handscombe as well as skipper Aaron Finch.

Jhye Richardson would most likely to be named "Man of the Match" for his dazzling 4/26 spell against the Indian batting side.

Rohit Sharma was the lone man in the middle order, knocking a slow but brilliant 133  in a woeful 129 deliveries.  He came back to the squad, after missing from the historic Test series squad, flying back to see his newborn daughter along with wife Ritika Sajdeh.

MS Dhoni followed up the rest of the game, marking his 68th ODI half-century in a calamitous after the middle order had collapsed by the Australian bowling side.

India's inconsistency in One Day Internationals continues, and the batting side had been absolutely dreadful.  Extremely slower run rates from Dhoni and Rohit, Dhawan and Rayudu ousted for a duck each slumps India's defeat in the 1st ODI against the side from Down Under.
