Pakistan’s fast bowling legend cricketer Shoaib Akhtar slammed the critics who trolled him for praising Indian cricketers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, in an interview with YouTube channel Cricket Pakistan he lauded Virat Kohli as one of the best players in the world currently and told Pakistani critics to refer stats if they have any doubts, he stated: ‘Why shouldn’t I praise Virat Kohli, he and Rohit Sharma are performing all the time, I don’t know why people are angry they should go look at the stats first before criticizing me. Do they want to keep hatred in mind, that just because he is an Indian we will not praise him?’
Akhtar went on to talk about lots of disparities between Pakistan’s cricket team and that of India stating that Indian team always brought right people on the top; ‘Our mindset was made to change by bringing average people on the top, they brought average people to be the captain of the team. Look at what India got- they made Virat Kohli the captain an aggressive player who did we bring’ he added.
He went on to criticize the mindset that has been natured in Pakistan’s cricket team stating that during his time the team was at par excellence in comparison to today’s time ‘Why do you always try to find faults, why don’t you try to be like them, there was a time when Indians want to be like Pakistan now Pakistan wants to be like Indians’ stating that in late 90’s India would raise their hands that we don’t want to play in Sharjah against Pakistan.
