IPL2020: David Hussey appreciates Sunil Narine; says it's stupid not to continue with him as opener

David Hussey, previous Australian cricketer and the current coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders, accepts that off-spinner-cum opener, Sunil Narine is an authentic all-rounder, and given the way that he has done so well with the bat at the head of the request, it would be 'stupid' not to proceed with the move.

KKR's choice to proceed with Sunil Narine as an opener has gone under incredible examination following rehashed disappointments of the West Indian off-spinner in the continuous version of the IPL. Sunil Narine has enlisted scores of 9, 0, 15, and 3 in the four games that Kolkata Knight Riders have played this season, and the calls are getting stronger for KKR to dump the examination and play an authentic opener close by Shubman Gill.

”He is a genuine all-rounder. Isn’t he? Fortunately, we’ve got a few genuine allrounders. Nitish Rana, Chris green, Andre Russell of course, which is very handy. Opening the batting is probably not my strategy. You always generally try and protect your best players. He’s one of the world’s best T20 bowlers or white ball bowlers throughout the world. But he’s done it so well, opening the batting for the Kolkata Knight Riders. It would be stupid not to continue with it as well. But fortunately, Brendon has to make those tough calls with the batting order,” David Hussey said in an exclusive interview with a news media organization.

Captain Dinesh Karthik was posed a similar inquiry following his sides' annihilation in the last game against the Delhi Capitals and the wicketkeeper-batsman's answer was an unmistakable sign that the examination of opening Sunil Narine as an opener may very well proceed in the up and coming games.

“I haven’t thought about changing the opening pair, But maybe after this game, I will sit down with the coaching staff. We still believe in Narine and whenever he gets going, he gets us off to a great start” Dinesh Karthik had said.
