IPL 2020: ‘His form is far away from him, ’Aakash Chopra referring to DC batsman

The Delhi Capitals ended up in a fix in the continuous period of the Indian Premier League after wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant endured a physical issue mid-season. Gasp must be supplanted with the main another wicketkeeping alternative in the crew - Alex Carey - which implied that DC needed to pass on Shimron Hetmyer as one of their abroad players.

In any case, presently Pant is fit and he has gotten back to the playing XI. However, his return has not helped DC a piece. In the two games Pant has played since he has returned, he has not put his best self forward with the bat.

The left-gave batsman scored 27 runs in 33 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders in DC's past game. He had scored 14 runs in 20 balls against Kings XI Punjab in the game before that. To compound the situation, DC lost both the games.

Previous India cricketer Aakash Chopra accepts that Pant has watched withdrawn this season. Chopra said that Pant's normal may be acceptable, yet his strike rate is excessively low, and in the event that he can't figure out how to expand it, things won't turn out for him this season.

“Pant is misfiring because you have hopes from him. There was a partnership between Iyer and Pant where Iyer was trying but Pant was not seen hitting at all. It seemed his form is far away from him,” Chopra said in a video on his Youtube channel.

“That is not the kind of Pant innings we know. His strike rate has not been good this year. His average might be alright but his ability to hit is not coming to the fore and if that happens, it will not work out,” Chopra added.

DC goes against Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2020 on Tuesday.
