IPL 2021: 5 Influential Players Who Pulled Out Of IPL 14

IPL 14 is just around the corner and all the cricket fans are eagerly waiting to see their teams back in action. The tournament will be played from 9 April to 30 May. All matches will be played in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. One major change this year will be the use of neutral venues, which means the teams will not get home advantage. Most of the franchises have already started sweating out for the upcoming matches, meanwhile, some teams have suffered a major setback due to the sudden exit of their vital players.

These are the five players who've pulled out of the Tournament:

Josh Phillip (Australia): Team - RCB

The 23-year-Old Australian wicketkeeper batsmen displayed tremendous form with both bat and gloves in the Big Bash League, he was the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament. Josh withdrew from IPL 14 earlier this month citing personal reasons. Josh made his IPL debut in 2020 and scored only 78 runs in five innings. However, RCB has included New Zealand's Fin Allen as his replacement in the squad.

Joffra Archer(England): Team - Rajasthan Royals

England Pacer Joffra Archer's withdrawal from IPL 14 came as a shocker for Rajasthan Royals, he has been ruled out of the tournament due to continuous pain in his right-hand elbow for a long time.

Josh Hazlewood(Australia): Team - CSK 

The 30-year-old Australian fast bowler has opted out of the upcoming IPL 14 as he wanted to focus on staying physically and mentally ready for a tight international season ahead.

Dale Steyn(South Africa): Team- RCB

The Veteran South Africa pacer has been a lethal bowler of his time; However, this seamer is no longer as influential as he was back then. Steyn has been associated with the IPL since 2008, but in recent years he has struggled to stay in the playing 11. In his illustrious IPL career, he has played for RCB, Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Gujarat Lions. He has taken only one wicket in three matches with an economy of 11.40 for RCB. 

Shreyas Iyer (India): Team - DC

DC captain and star batsman Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the entire tournament due to a shoulder injury during the ODI series against England. It is believed that he will stay away from any cricketing action till September. Shreyas Iyer's surgery is to be done on 8 April, only then the fans will get to know any news of his comeback.
