Mumbai Indians defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 13 runs on Saturday in the 14th season of the Indian Premier League. Kieron Pollard was instrumental in Mumbai's victory who hit two sixes off the last two balls, taking Mumbai's score to 150. Pollard scored an unbeaten 35 off 22 balls in a very challenging situation against Sunrisers Hyderabad, his innings included three sixes and a four.
Pollard, playing against Sunrisers Hyderabad yesterday, achieved the feat of hitting 200 sixes in the 150th innings of his IPL career. Pollard now has 201 sixes in the IPL.
Pollard has surpassed MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma and reached number three in terms of completing the fastest 200 sixes in the IPL. Pollard has completed 200 sixes in 150 innings.
Dhoni completed the feat in 165, Kohli 180 and Rohit took 185 innings to hit 200 sixes.
The record for the fastest 200 sixes in the IPL is in the name of Chris Gayle, who played just 68 innings for it. AB de Villiers is second on this list with 137 innings.
He will join compatriot Chris Gayle (349), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star AB de Villiers (235), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni (216), Mumbai Indians (MI) Rohit Sharma (213), and RCB captain Virat Kohli (201) in the elite club.
