England and Wales Cricket Board on Tuesday announced  the fixtures for India’s tour of England next year. India and England will play 3 Twenty 20 matches, followed by 3 One Day Internationals and conclude with 5 test matches. After 1959, it will be the second time that Team India will play a five-match test series in England. India will play Tests at Edgbaston, Lord's, Trent Bridge, the Rose Bowl and The Oval.

"A five-Test series against India is at the heart of next summer's international programme," said ECB chief executive officer Tom Harrison

Test cricket is considered the most important format and in which the player is actually tested according to many experts. Also, the longer format of the game gets a significant viewership among the English and also considering the fact that it has been getting a lot of attention of late due to the close contests. It will be interesting to see how the Indian team under team fares in English conditions and also a major test for captain Virat Kohli overseas.

The last time India won a Test series in England was nearly 10 years ago in 2007. India, led by Rahul Dravid at the time, won the second Test, courtesy a nine-wicket haul by Zaheer Khan and strong performances by Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkarand Wasim Jaffer with the bat.
