3 Australian players pull out of IPL, shocked to see the amount of money spent by franchises amid Covid-19 crisis: Andrew Tye

Three Australian players Andrew Tye, Kane Richardson and Adam Jampa have pulled out of the IPL due to the growing outbreak of Covid-19 in India. Cricket Australia on Monday inquired about the health and travel plans of its players playing in the IPL.

Australia's fast bowler Andrew Tye, who has returned home from the IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR) for 'personal reasons. “Looking at it from an Indian point of view, how are these companies and franchises spending so much money, and the government, on the IPL when there are people not being able to get accepted into hospital?" Tye was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians batsman Chris Lynn has urged Cricket Australia (CA) to arrange a special flight for the players to return home after the Indian Premier League (IPL) ends. He also revealed that his franchise will get all the team members vaccinated next week.

14 Australian players are still associated with the IPL. These include Steve Smith, David Warner and Pat Cummins, besides Delhi Capitals coach Ricky Ponting and Royal Challengers Bangalore coach Simon Katich.
