The Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) has been affected badly by the Covid-19. The covid-19 outbreak has caught the members of Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings into its clutches. The match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) was postponed after two KKR players Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday. Now questions are being raised on how the Covid-19 virus breached the bio-bubble even after such strict rules.
IPL fans are curious over how these two KKR players got infected with the virus despite being under a bio secure environment.
According to media reports, Varun Chakraborty was rushed to the hospital some time back due to an elbow problem. After this, Varun played the next match against Delhi Capitals without quarantining himself after he returned from the hospital. This act led to a breach in KKR's Bio-Bubble and Varun's teammate Sandeep Warrier also tested positive for the virus.
The BCCI may shift the remaining matches of the IPL to Mumbai to reduce the risk of the Covid-19 pandemic. This can be done by the coming weekend and all the matches before that will be played according to the schedule. Apart from this, the final match of IPL which is to be played on May 30, can be scheduled for the first week of June.
