The 14th season of the IPL was postponed indefinitely amid the second wave of Covid-19 in the country. This decision was taken at the emergency meeting of the Governing Council of the IPL and the BCCI. Meanwhile, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has given a big statement regarding the bio-bubble of IPL. Ganguly while talking to a media house said 'I do not think that the bio-bubble of IPL was not fully secure'.

"There has been no violation of bio-bubble in the report that we have received. It is very difficult to say how all this happened. It is also very difficult to say how so many people are getting infected in the country," he said.

On the question of sending foreign players home, Ganguly said, "They will be all right. They are all being taken care of and they will all reach home. The Australians will reach Maldives tomorrow, to complete their isolation and then safely reach Australia." So I don't consider it an issue. "

However, Ganguly did not give a clear answer to the question of the venue for the remaining matches of IPL 2021. He said, "I don't know and it's too early to say right now."

Significantly, the IPL 2021 was inaugurated on April 9 in Chennai but after running for about 1 month many players were found positive for the Covid-19.
