Eleven members, including former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, who were going to UAE to participate in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), were denied permission to board the commercial flight and had to return to the hotel. Sarfaraz and the other 11 members were to go to Abu Dhabi via Lahore, Karachi and Doha. The PSL was postponed in March due to the Covid-19 situation and recently the Pakistan Cricket Board got permission from the UAE government to get the tournament done in Abu Dhabi.
According to a report, "11 players and officials heading for the PSL in the early hours of Sunday were not allowed to board a business flight from Lahore and Karachi via Doha to Abu Dhabi, including the captain of Quetta Gladiators Sarfaraz Ahmed.' The Pakistan Cricket Board is facing 'logistical related issues' including the obtaining of visas ahead of the PSL being resumed in Abu Dhabi. The PSL was postponed in early March after players and officials were found infected with Covid-19 and only 14 matches were played then.
According to the report, "Five persons from this PSL team were allowed to leave while others had to return to their hotel where they have been in quarantine since May 24. More than 25 players from both cities were to travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by chartered flight. But the PCB opted to send them via commercial aircraft, which abrogated the earlier quarantine protocol rules.
