Lahore Qalandars was considered as the top contenders for the title this year after a stellar performance in the first leg of the Pakistan Super League 2021. However, the franchise could not replicate their performance in the second leg and miss out on qualifying for the playoff stage.

Former Pakistan cricket team veteran fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar is very upset with the performance of Lahore Qalandars in the second phase of PSL 2021.

The former Pakistani player has expressed his desire to buy the team after their disappointing run in the second half of PSL 6. Not only this, Akhtar wants to change the name of this franchise to Lahore Express instead of Lahore Qalandars, so that the team can perform well in the upcoming season.

According to a cricket website, Shoaib Akhtar said, 'I asked the Rana brothers to sell me their team. I will change its name to Lahore Express and also change the management. These owners and management are not serious about cricket. These people are spoiling the Lahore brand.

Multan Sultans led by Mohammad Rizwan defeated Lahore Qalandars by 90 runs in their last match. Multan had scored 179 runs in this match, while chasing this target, the team of Lahore Qalandars were bundled out for just 89 runs.
