According to reports, the team management is in the process of bringing Prithvi Shaw to England as a replacement for injured Shubman Gill.
Former Indian team captain Kapil Dev is not in favor of this move. Kapil Dev believes that sending Prithvi Shaw to England will send a wrong message to the team.
Kapil Dev said, 'I don't think there is any need for it. The selectors should also have some respect. They have also picked a team and I am sure it would not have happened without the advice of Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri. I mean you have two big openers in KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal. Do you really need the third option? I don't think it is correct. I am not impressed by this theory.
Team India's opener Shubman Gill has suffered a shin stress fracture due to which he can be away from any cricketing action for at least two months.
The injury is understood to have aggravated during the recently concluded World Test Championship final against New Zealand in Southampton. India lost this match by eight wickets.
Although the Indian team already has reserve batsmen for the opening spot in the form of Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul and Abhimanyu Easwaran, the BCCI can also call Prithvi Shaw for the England series.
