UP STF and Punjab Police have arrested the main accused Chhajju alias Chhaimar in connection with the murder of relatives of former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina. Chhajju has been arrested from his village Pachpedha located under Baheri police station area of Bareilly district.
When Suresh Raina was in Dubai for the IPL, his aunt's house in Punjab was attacked by miscreants, in which his uncle Ashok died on the spot during the incident, while his brother was also killed later, while his aunt had suffered serious injuries.
Former Team India cricketer Suresh Raina had to return to India from the UAE in the year 2020 after leaving the IPL tournament because his relatives were brutally murdered in Punjab.
Police said that 3 members of this gang were involved in the murder incident last year. Chhajju told the police that he had fled to Hyderabad after the incident, stayed there for some time and then returned to his village in Bareilly.
Women members are also involved in Chhajju Chhamar's gang to do this. These same women had entered Ashok Kumar's house on the pretext of selling flowers and gathered all the information. After which the gang members entered the night after marking the house and injured the men and women sleeping on the roofs as well as the children by beating them with sticks and robbed them and fled.
