Cricketer Unmukt Chand announces retirement from cricket

In the latest development, former India’s U19 winning captain Unmukt Chand has announced his retirement for India. The right-handed batsman usually opened the innings for India.

The 28-year-old talented cricketer represented Delhi in Indian domestic cricket tournaments. Unmukt Chand led the Indian under-19 team to the U-19 Cricket World Cup victory in 2012.

 
He was also the first captain to win U-19 World Cup in Australia. The flamboyant cricketer struck an unbeaten 111 in the final against Australia in Townsville. He drew plaudits across quarters.

In fact, he earned the praise of Australian great Greg Chappell. He aggregated 499 runs during his first spell with the Delhi U-19 team. Chand scored 2 centuries and a solitary fifty. His impressive performance saw him become the captain of the Delhi U-19 team and the North Zone U-19 team.
