Virat Kohli rejects multi- crore soft drink ad deal

Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been vocal regarding the importance of fitness, the star can be often seen sweating it out in the gym and remains one of the fittest cricketers in the team, which reflects in his game.

The skipper’s fitness mantra has changed the philosophy in the national side as there is no room for players that are deemed unfit (Yuvraj).

Now, the Indian skipper has shown he practices what he preaches after the star turned down a multi-crore ad deal with a leading soft drink brand.

"I first convince myself I can do it and only then ask my teammates to go for it,"

The reason for rejecting the endorsement deal was plain and simple; Virat does not consume aerated drinks as he follows a strict diet and endorsing soft drink would go against his fitness first policy.

Just before the Indian team left for Sri Lanka for a bilateral series, the entire unit went through a 'Yo-Yo' endurance test and if reports are to be believed, Kohli, easily the fittest Indian cricketer, scored around 21 in the test while the acceptable 'Yo-Yo' score is 19.5 and upwards.
