Virat Kohli’s record as a captain has been phenomenal. Recently, after the Sri Lanka series win, India completed seven consecutive series wins in test cricket and now after the victory in the 1st One Day International against Australia, Kohli has achieved another milestone. Virat Kohli has surpassed MS Dhoni’s record of most number of wins by an Indian captain across all formats as he now has 10 wins while Dhoni had 9 consecutive wins under his captaincy.

India had defeated Australia by 26 runs in the first ODI in rain curtailed match. Earlier, Kohli’s team had whitewashed Sri Lanka in the five match ODI series.

Overall, Australia has the record for the most consecutive wins across different formats, having won 20 matches on a trot in the year 2003.
