IND vs SL: Lankans all-out for 205, Spinners put India ahead on Day 1

Cricket | Friday | 24th November, 2017

In the second Test between Sri Lanka and India in Nagpur, the visitors bundled out for 205 runs after stellar bowling from the home side particularly the spinners as Ashwin ended up with four wickets and Jadeja darted his way to a three.

The Lankans won the toss and elected to bat first considering the pitch was perfect for batting but they failed to capitalize, losing wickets in quick succession, apart from Dimuth and skipper Chandimal, others failed to make a significant impact.

After Sri Lankans were all out, the Indian came out to bat for 8 over before stumps. The host managed to make eight runs but lost KL Rahul for just seven runs. However, despite losing Rahul, Lankans have quite a task against the packed Indian batsman on a track hell-bent on flattening out. India ended the day with a deficit of 194 runs.

Brief Scores: Sri Lanka 205 (Dinesh Chandimal 57, Dimuth Karunaratne 51; Ravichandran Ashwin 4-67, Ravindra Jadeja 3-56, Ishant Sharma 3-37) lead India 11/1 (Lahiru Gamage 1-4) by 194 runs
