Cricket | Sunday | 26th November, 2017

India had another incredible day as they dominated the Lankan bowlers, scoring runs with ease. Leading the assault was skipper Virat Kohli, who continued his sublime form in 2017 by notching masterclass fifth double century in Tests and playing enforce on Day 3.

Rohit Sharma inflicted more punishment, celebrating his return to the Test team with a third Test century. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma shifted gears to score 103 runs in 20 overs and with Rohit’s ton, India declared at 610/6, leading the Lankans by 405 runs.

Needing 405 to avoid an innings defeat, Sri Lanka started poorly, losing Sadeera cheaply and ended the day with 21/1.

Brief scores: Sri Lanka 205 & 21/1 (Ishant Sharma 1-15) trail India 610/6 (Virat Kohli 170*, Murali Vijay 128, Cheteshwar Pujara 143, Rohit Sharma 51*; Dilruwan Perera 1-157) by 384 runs.
