Virat slams 20th Test century, Murali continues to impress

Virat Kohli notched up yet another milestone going past the 5000-run mark in Tests during the third and the final Test between India and Sri Lanka at the Feroz Shah Kotla.

Kohli became the 11th Indian batsman to achieve the milestone and the fourth fastest in terms of innings behind Sunil Gavaskar (95), Virender Sehwag (99) and Sachin Tendulkar (103). Kohli, playing his 63rd Test took 105 innings to cross the 5000-run mark.

The Indian skipper marked the special occasion with yet another Test century, making it three consecutive and 20th overall Test hundred. Kohli dominated proceedings and reached the three-figure mark in just 110 balls, making this knock his fastest Test hundred. He hit 14 fours in his innings. 

Virat’s partner in crime Murali Vijay who made a comeback to the playing line-up in the second Test once again scored a century, completing his 11th Test hundred with ease.
