IND vs SA: India will look to change woeful record in SA

Cricket | Wednesday | 3rd January, 2018

India had an incredible 2017, the win-loss ratio tells a startling story of their dominance as they managed a ratio of 3.08, the next best team was South Africa 1.92.

However, their dominance will be tested to the fullest when they take on Proteas, despite being the number one ranked side in Test cricket, India’s record in South Africa over the past 25 years is nothing short of woeful.

Virat Kohli and his men will look to change history for good when they take on South Africa in three-match Test series but Proteas will take comfort in the knowledge that India has never won a Test series in their country.

Since 1992, they have won just two of the 17 Tests they have played in South Africa. The side has played six Test series on South African soil in which host has won five times while one was a draw which was India’s best return.

The series against South Africa is deemed as the first real test that Kohli faces since taking over as captain of the Indian team in all three formats of the game from MS Dhoni in January 2016.
