IPL Auction 2018: Ishant Sharma unsold, Rabada retained by Delhi

Pacers weren’t favoured in the IPL 2018 player auction. Of the 11 fast bowlers up for grabs in the sixth round of the auction, only five found buyers.

Indian Premier League’s record wicket-taker Lasith Malinga didn’t have any takers. Apart from Malinga, Ishant Sharma, Tim Southee, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Johnson remained unsold.

Of the five players who did find teams bidding for them, Pat Cummins was the most popular, fetching Rs 5.40 crores from Mumbai Indians. Kagiso was retained by the Delhi Daredevils for Rs 4.20 crores.

Umesh Yadav was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 4.20 crores. Mohammed Shami was also retained using the right to match card by Delhi at Rs 3 crores. Mustafizur Rahman was picked up by Mumbai Indian for Rs 2.20 crores.
