Ahead of the biggest IPL auction, many predicted that 16-year-old Afghan mystery spinner Mujeeb Zadran would be the surprised element but no one predicted that the teams would fight for him in the auction and pay way beyond his base price.

The talented blower was eventually picked up by Kings XI Punjab for staggering 4 crores. Mujeeb is the first 21st century player in Men’s International cricket and has been excellent in the shortest format of the game. The off-break bowler has an economy rate as low as 6.71. He became the youngest player to be picked in the auction.

At the Under-19 World Cup, his four-wicket haul helped Afghanistan beat New Zealand to secure a semi-final berth.
