IND vs SA: Virat Kohli slams 34th ton, breaks Sachin’s record

Virat Kohli, who once again reaffirmed his status as an ODI great with an unbeaten 160 off 159 balls on a challenging surface. It was Kohli’s 34th ODI hundred, who is now 15 shy of Sachin Tendulkar’s mark of 49.

With his sublime 160, Kohli recorded the highest score by an Indian in an ODI in South Africa. The previous record was held by Sachin Tendulkar which was set back in 2003.

Virat Kohli has been simply unstoppable in the shorter format of the game and Wednesday’s match-winning effort was his fourth three-figure score in the last six ODI. It was also his second hundreds of the series and third of the tour.
