The Indian skipper Virat Kohli has come a long way, from being a teenage sensation to now India’s most loved and prized possession, the lad from Delhi has shown tremendous evolution.

A decade-long career started back in August 2008 where he made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka and since then Kohli has amassed 8,767 runs at 55.13. He has 30 ODI tons and 45 half-centuries with a career-best score of 183. Kohli is ahead of the rest of the pack after 199 ODIs in his career. He has more runs than anyone - 8767 - next best being AB de Villiers with 8520 runs. His 30 hundred are seven more than the next placed de Villiers after 199 ODIs.

Under Kohli, India has played 23 matches this year and have lost just five ODIs with one game yielding no result. The series victory over Australia was India's sixth consecutive and fourth this year.
