IND vs NZ: India win thriller to clinch series 2-1

India came out victorious in a thrilling encounter after bowlers held their nerves in the death overs to help Men in Blue beat New Zealand by six runs in the third and final ODI at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, clinching the series 2-1.

The visitors chasing a mammoth 338-run target fell short after managing 331 for seven in 50 overs. The last over was intense, Kiwis required 15 off the last over and in the clutch moment, death over specialist Bumrah stepped up and guided India to a thrilling victory. Bumrah conceded just eight runs in the final over to make New Zealand's wait for their maiden ODI series win in India.

Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl first, India put to bat, started off in a brilliant fashion all thanks to Rohit Sharma and skipper Virat Kohli. Flawless Sharma struck his 15th century in ODI, the fifth of this year while Kohli slammed his 32nd ton and sixth in 2017. Virat who scored 113 runs became the fastest to reach 9000 ODI runs.
