Dhoni reaches another milestone, becomes 4th highest run-scorer for India

Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni has been racking up personal records, previously in the second ODI against Sri Lanka, he became the joint topper along with Sangakarra (99) for most stumping in one day international.

And now in the third ODI Dhoni became the fourth highest run-getter for India in ODI during the course of his against the host Sri Lanka. Only Sachin Tendulkar (18,426), Sourav Ganguly (11,221) and Rahul Dravid (10,768) are ahead of him on the elite list.

Dhoni achieved the feat in 296 ODIs, while Ravid took 340 and Sourav Ganguly in 308. Mahi’s average and strike rate are the highest among the top 5 ODI batsman for India with 51.55 and a strike rate of 87.99.

Dhoni had an another wonderful inning, scoring an unbeaten 67 off 86 balls but more importantly, he played the perfect partner to Rohit Sharma, who was on fire, demolishing Sri Lankan bowlers.
