India vs Sri Lanka: Virat and Rohit decimate Lanka bowlers

Cricket | Sri Lanka Vs India 2017 | Thursday | 31st August, 2017

Quite surprisingly, Virat Kohli who generally prefers chasing, decided to bat first after winning the toss in the fourth ODI against Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka may have been happy with the early departure of Shikhar Dhawan. But after that it was all Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as they hammered the Sri Lanka bowlers all over the park. While Kohli smashed 131 runs off 96 balls, Sharma scored 104 runs off 88 balls.

During his innings, Virat Kohli also scored his fastest half century ever, while Rohit Sharma continued his dream run scoring his second consecutive century. Sharma also became the first Indian to score back to back centuries against Sri Lanka.

MS Dhoni and Manish Pandey also made vital contributions in the end as India set up a massive 375 runs on the board and it would need something extraordinary from the Sri Lanka batsman to achieve this target, although it looks highly unlikely considering the recent performance of Lanka batsman.
