India vs Sri Lanka: Hardik Pandya scores maiden test century in just 86 balls

What a knock! Hardik Pandya hammered the Sri Lankan bowlers all over the ground as he diminished Lanka’s chances of finishing the series with a consolation victory. He reached his ton in just 86 balls and the innings also included a record 26 runs from a Pushpakumara over. This is the most runs scored by an Indian in a single over in Test cricket.

Pandya’s magnificient innings helped India reach an imposing total of 487 runs in the first innings and put Sri Lanka on the backfoot. Sri Lankan batsman  will now have to play really well and score quickly to make a comeback in this match. But the way they have been playing in this series, it looks highly unlikely.

Although India have already won the series, this match is still an opportunity for some of the youngsters to prove themselves. With this knock , Pandya has definitely cemented his place in the team for now. Captain Virat Kohli has a lot of hopes from him and Pandya is living up to the expectations.
