India vs Sri Lanka: Tharanga to lead SL in ODIs, Malinga is back

The Sri Lankan squad for the upcoming ODI series against India has been announced. The fans will be  expecting that the Sri Lankan team which is going through a transition phase shows some fight in the upcoming ODI series after the test series had been completely one sided. Anglelo Mathews was not willing to stay captain after the Zimbabwe series and this will be a test for Tharanga, who will be regular captain for the first time in his career.

Sri Lankan team will definitely be boosted by the return of veteran pacer, Lasith Malinga who can cause trouble for any side on his day. The selectors have also recalled all-rounders Thisara Perera and Milinda Siriwardana for the series. The 1st ODI will be played in Dambulla on Sunday.

The island nation had also upset India in the recent group stage match in the Champions Trophy. After some of their key players like Mahela Jayawardene, Kumar Sangakkara and Tillakaratne Dilshan announced retirement, the team has been struggling although they still have a talented bunch who are capable of bringing this side to the old winning ways.
