Cristiano Ronaldo was suspended during Real Madrid’s first leg Spanish Cup clash against arch-rival Barcelona where he scored a brilliant long range but a minute later Ronaldo was booked for diving, it was his second yellow, earlier while celebrating his goal the Real Madrid superstar had opened which is an automatic yellow.

The Portuguese captain was handed a one-match ban for the 10th red card of his career and a further four-game suspension for pushing the match referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea in protest.

Post ban, Ronaldo blasted his treatment by the Spanish Football Federation as persecution on his Instagram account after his first appeal was rejected last week.

"It seems to me exaggerated and ridiculous, this is called persecution!"

Four time Ballon d’Or winner was not done and reiterated his anger at what he described as the incomprehensible decision to reject his final appeal against a five match ban on Tuesday.

The Spanish administrative sports court dismissed Real Madrid’s latest appeal for the suspension handed out to Cristiano Ronaldo for pushing the match official.

"Another incomprehensible decision," Ronaldo posted to his over 57 million Twitter followers.

"Injustices will not knock me down. I will come back stronger.

"Thanks to those who have supported me."

Ronaldo has already served two games of his suspension as Madrid played the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup and the opening game of the new La Liga campaign which they won 3-0 at Deportivo la Coruna.
