The transfer window is officially shut and it was yet another drama filled deadline day, filled with surprises and last minute frantic buys, well, to be honest, that’s the reason why fans love the deadline day. The emotions were running high, social media were filled with crazy rumours, well some might have weight to it but eventually, the deal didn’t go through, nonetheless, past 24 hours was a wild rollercoaster ride.
The Premier League club took their transfer deadline day spending to a record 210 million pounds with a late flurry of deals but some of the highest-profile moves of the window failed to materialize.
Alexis Sanchez and Thomas Lemar failed to land transfers but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Fernando Llorente and Davide Zappacosta all secured theirs. Chelsea was left frustrated again as Ross Barkley pulled out of a deal after completing his medical but they managed to sign long term target Danny Drinkwater from Leicester City
The biggest surprise deal was that of Renato Sanches, the Welsh club confirmed the shock signing of talented youngster from Bayern Munich on a season-long loan. Spurs were very quiet through the window but managed to wake up in the deadline as they completed the signing of Serge Aurier and Fernando Llorente from PSG and Swansea respectively.
