La Liga demands UEFA to investigate Manchester City’s spending

The summer transfer window saw some crazy deals, Neymar to PSG broke the record for the most expensive switch in football history, and the other was Mpabbe’s one-year loan from Monaco, with PSG obligated to pay 166 million pounds making the second expensive player.

La Liga wants UEFA to investigate Manchester City’s spending and expand its newly launched probe into whether PSG breached Financial Fair Play rules.

Spanish league president Javier Tebas said in a statement that Abu Dhabi-funded City and Qatari-owned PSG are benefiting from state aid which 'distorts European competitions' and 'is irreparably harming the football industry.

Both City and PSG splashed out hundreds of millions in the transfer window that closed last week.

Pep Guardiola spent in the region of £220million with six new signings, including full backs Kyle Walker and Benjamin Mendy from Tottenham and Monaco for almost £100m.

Bernardo Silva also arrived from Monaco for £43m, with Ederson, Danilo and Douglas Luiz also sealing moves to the Etihad Stadium.

Tebas wants a review of PSG after they improbably funding the captures of both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. While PSG have maintained they operate with transparency and there is a degree of surprise at La Liga public bemoaning finances elsewhere.
