Zinedine Zidane, who was a veteran of France and Real Madrid, had his second stint as manager with the club. Zidane won the World Cup title with France in 1998. He became Real's manager for the first time in 2016

Under the leadership of Zidane, Real Madrid became the first team to win a hat-trick of Uefa Champions League titles between 2016 and 2018. In his two years and five months in charge, Madrid won a total of nine trophies, including two Club World Cups, two UEFA Super Cups, one Spanish league, and one Spanish Super Cup.

Zidane had been dismissing talks about his future recently, saying that he would discuss it with the club. He said he believed that Madrid could do well without him as a coach.
