Euro Cup 2021: Portugal face Hungary in Group of Death, Cristiano Ronaldo eyeing another milestone

Europe's biggest football championship UEFA Euro 2020, which was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic commenced on June 11. 

Defending champions Portugal take on Hungary in the European Championship Euro-2020 Cup at the Puskas Arena in Budapest on Tuesday night. All eyes will be on Portugal's star striker Cristiano Ronaldo, who is just five goals away from equaling the world record for most goals scored by a player for his country.

Group-F is being called the Group of Death in Euro 2021 because, in addition to Portugal and Hungary, Europe's two giant football countries France and Germany are also there.

The two teams have met 13 times so far, out of which Portugal has won 9 times while the remaining four matches have ended in draws. Hungary is still waiting for its first victory against Portugal. The two teams last faced off in the year 2017, in which Portugal beat Hungary 1-0.

A total of 24 teams are participating in the tournament which is divided into six groups. The top two teams from each group will advance to the pre-quarterfinals (Round of 16). The best four teams placed third in the six groups will also make it to the pre-quarters.
