Euro Cup 2021: Spain reach quarters in style by scoring five past Croatia in an 8-goal thriller

Football fans all around the world witnessed two super exciting games in the Knock out stages of the Uefa Euro Cup 2020. This euro cup has definitely changed the perception of International football when pitted against club football, we have seen some crazy high scoring matches including Monday's two games.

The thrill ended with Switzerland vs France match, but this historic Monday started with the match between Spain and Croatia in Copenhagen. Spain clinched the match by 5 -3, thanks to Alvaro Morata and Mikel Oyarzabal's extra-time goals.

Spain scored a total of 5 goals in the match, becoming the first team in the European Championship to score 5 goals in two consecutive matches of the tournament.

Spain beat Croatia by 5 goals against but writing the script for this victory has never been easy for him. Spain's Pedri scored an own goal in the 20th minute, Pablo Sarabia equalised the core in the 38th minute for Spain.
The first half of the match ended with a score of 1-1.

Spain started the second half attacking fiercely from the beginning in the second half and took a 2-1 lead in the 57th minute of the match by Azpilicueta's header. The veteran defended scored his first goal for the La Roja and it came at a very crucial time.

Ferran Torres scored another goal in the 77th minute of the match. Now the ball was in Spain's court and they needed to stop Croatia for the next 15 minutes of the game but Croatia's fighting spirit is unmatched and they bounced back in the game with two goals in the 85th and 90+2 minutes of the match, just before the final whistle. Mislav Orsic scored the second goal and assisted the equaliser to teammate Mario Pasalic.

There was a 15-minute game in extra time and Alvaro Morata stepped in to score in the 100th minute which proved to be decisive. Three minutes later, Oyarzabal brought the score to 5-3, which Spain retained till the end.
