The Indian football team ranking has dropped from a record high in the latest FIFA ranking. The national team, who were enjoying a four-month spell inside the FIFA top 100, has slipped to 107th. The number no 1 footballing nation right now is the Germany, they leapfrogged Brazil to the top spot. Portugal is enjoying the number 2 spot while Argentina and Belgium follow them.

The Blue Tigers entered the top 100 for the very first time back in May this year but despite their impressive results in the recent past, especially their 11 games unbeaten run Stephen Constantine’s men have dropped in the rankings.

India played three matches which counted towards their September’s FIFA ranking, they won two of those and managed to draw against St Kitts & Nevis, but result elsewhere meant that someone had to give way. Luxembourg’s stunning 0-0 draw against France in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers that saw the little European country leapfrog India to 101st.

India's ten-place drop means they are below the likes of Zimbabwe and Faroe Islands and the 13th ranked team in Asia.
