Chennaiyin FC strengthened their grip at the summit of Indian Super League after defeating newcomers Jamshedpur FC 1-0 in a closely fought encounter. Jeje scored the only goal of the match from the penalty spot, while Jamshedpur’s Belfort failed to convert a penalty himself.

Chennaiyin's win meant that they are four points clear on top of the table, but have played two games more than second-placed FC Goa. It also means they are unbeaten in three games now.

While Jamshedpur FC is sixth in the table with 9 points in seven matches. However, they still have the enviable record of conceding just two goals in seven matches.
