Since India’s U-17 star Dheeraj Singh left the I-League side Indian Arrows, there have been a lot of speculation regarding his future, with plenty of teams from abroad and within the country interested in the goalkeeper from Manipur, rumours were bound to happen but there was nothing concrete.

Last night during the Indian Super League match between Delhi Dynamos and Kerala Blasters, the 17-year-old was spotted in a Kerala Blasters kit at the JNL Stadium in Delhi, further fuelling speculation about his future.

However, Dheeraj’s agent confirmed that the youngster is simply training with the club to maintain his fitness level. The agent further added that he will train with Kerala Blasters for three-weeks, after which he will leave for the foreign trials.

The lad from Manipur was expected to go to foreign shores for trials, with a number of sides lined up for Dheeraj. Scottish top division side Motherwell were among the earliest teams linked to the keeper but English sides Blackburn Rovers, Charlton Athletic and Premier League team West Ham United have also been reported to have shown interest in him.
