There are less than two-weeks before the transfer window is slam shut and clubs are doing everything to strengthen their team, similarly, North London club Tottenham Hotspur has finally made their first signing after confirming club record £42million capture of Davinson Sanchez from Ajax.

"We are delighted to announce that we have reached an agreement with AFC Ajax for the transfer of Davinson Sanchez subject to a medical and work permit," the club said in a statement on its website.

The Colombian international was a pivotal member of the side that reached Europa League final last season. The defender joined Ajax in 2016 and since then he made 47 appearances and scored seven goals.

While in Spain, Barcelona is having a torrid time, Spanish Cup disappointment, losing star striker Suarez for a month and are yet to replace Neymar, whose absence was clearly felt during the Spanish Cup.

However, in term of replacing Neymar, the Catalan club are desperate to land Coutinho from Liverpool, but they have had two bid rejected and the latest one worth £114million bid has also been turned down.

Liverpool is refusing to budge, despite the Brazilian formally submitting a transfer request. Coutinho has yet to play for Liverpool this season after suffering a back injury.
