After hammering Japan in the first match of the Asia Cup 2017, India continued their high scoring form in the next match as they thrashed host Bangladesh 7-0 in the Group A clash. With the comprehensive win, India has booked their place in the Super 4 and leapfrogged Pakistan to the top of the standing with six points in two matches.

India started the match strongly and continued in the same fashion, they dominated the host from the get-go and controlled the match with more than 70 percent possession. This could have been a goal-deluge for India but too many misses marred their play, they won staggering 13 penalty corner but managed to score just two goals from it.

India scored five goals in the first two quarters while another two after the change of ends. Gurjant Singh (7th minute), Akashdeep Singh (10th), Lalit Upadhyay (13th), Amit Rohidas (20th), Harmanpreet Singh (28th, 47th) and Ramandeep Singh (46th) were the goal scorers for India in the Pool An encounter.

India takes on arch-rivals Pakistan in their next match.
